Sunrise & Sunset

Hello friends, Mindy with you, sharing a friendship card using pieces of watercolor paper decorated with Ken Oliver Crafts Color Bursts as my main focal image.  I love playing with the Color Bursts, and the next set of Color Bursts - Earth Tones Assortment are now in at Classy Cards 'n Such online store. They are available as singles or as a 6 pack of the colors.

I trimmed down a piece of my watercolor art to fit my card front, matted with white on a red card stock base.  From there, I added a scrap of gold embossed kraft stock, and added a bit of Ivory cotton teardrop cluny lace trim around the kraft stock.

To complete my card, I added a butterfly stamped from the Sunflower Stem PreCut Set from Heartfelt Creations decorated with tiny Baby Pearls- White. My sentiment is from Hope and Love Vintage Label set from JustRite Stamps and is trimmed and attached with Joy! Foam Pads- Large to give dimension.

Thank you for joining me today!

School Butterflies

When I read about this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such, Back to School- use the colors in the inspiration photo, and add something related to school, I had to laugh.  Mindy here, and every year on the first day of school I always had butterflies in my stomach. So my card this week is a pun on my First Day Jitters.

I started my card with a rectangle base that I ran through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder that embossed music on the card. I then backed it with a frame of red card stock before adhering it to my kraft colored card base.  I then die cut the New, English Rose Bouquet die from Memory Box along with the Elegant Musical Staff also from Memory Box. I adhered the roses and music staff with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to the embossed panel then adhered some of the mini butterflies from the Butterfly Delights die cut using some of the Textured Pattern Foil Paper sold in the Classy Cards 'n Such Online store.

My sentiment banner of a pencil was hand drawn and lettered with the phrase, "let the music move you!" and was adhered with Joy! Foam Pads- Large.

I hope you have been inspired to create a card for our Back To School challenge this week. We love seeing what you create!

Dog Days Tri-fold

Mindy with you today, with a card that is a little different than those I usually create. I am using a tag die available in the Classy Cards Online Store to make a Tri-fold Card, celebrating the final days of Summer.

I started with a 12"X 12" piece of card stock and trimmed down a 5.50" strip and scored it at 4" and 8", making the three folds. I then used the Tags and More 3- Leaves die set from Elizabeth Crafts Designs to trim the tops of each section with the rounded die top and the leaf embellishment. Each leaf section was then backed with green card stock, and green corners were cut with one of the corner dies. I then cut some daisies from the Delightful Daisy Dies from Heartfelt Creations.  I colored them by using a fingertip sponge dauber and Distress Ink to color each layer, before using my Paper Blossoms Paper Tool Kit and Paper Blossoms Molding Mat to shape and form them.  While I still had a bit of ink on my daubers, I rubbed them in the center of each tag, before adhering the shaped flowers.

To finish my card, I cut three of the Patient Pup die cuts from Poppystamps, and adhered one to each page, before adding my sentiment and a ribbon strip to each page of the card.  I hope you have enjoyed today's card, and that you will join us everyday for our samples that will inspire you.  Have a wonderful day!

Keep In Touch

Hello, friends, Mindy with you today sharing my take on the inspiration photo for this week's weekly challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  The theme this week is to use the Color Inspiration provided by the suitcase photo.

Many of the colors in the photo are favorites of mine, but I haven't used the dusty blue in quite awhile, and I wanted to create with it.  I started my card by embossing a dusty blue background  with the Matelasse embossing folder from Anna Griffin, then adhering it to my card base.  I then took the
Spellbinders Oval Regalia set and die cut each layer from white card stock.  I used Stormy Sky Distress Ink by Ranger and my Mini Ink Blending Tool by Ranger to blend the dusty blue color on the white die cuts.   I then stacked them by different layers using Joy! Foam Pads Large between to give dimension to my card front.

To finish my card, I stamped a sentiment from the Keep in Touch, Too stamp set from Sweet 'n
Sassy on the smallest layer and added a few printed ribbons to give more texture. A small Bluebird of Happiness die was added from my stash to give it just a beautiful final touch.

Thanks for joining us today for our card challenge.

Miss You!

Hello card makers! Welcome to my Thursday afternoon post here at Classy Cards 'n Such blog.  Mindy here, sharing a card made with a New die I just received  from the Classy Cards Store.
The die, Stitched Vivienne Butterfly by Memory Box is a beautiful stitched butterfly die that can be colored many different ways.

I started this card by die cutting the butterfly die in the card front twice, and then running the card through my die cutting machine using the Daisy Flourish Embossing folder from Crafts, Too!  I then added a sheet of watercolor paper decorated with my Color Burst- Brights from Ken Oliver Crafts to the back of the openings, where the butterfly dies were cut out.

After coloring the butterfly dies with watercolor markers and my Clear Glitter Pen from Wink of Stella, I glued them to the openings on the card just in the center of the wings, so when dry the wings would be able to be folded up to give the card dimension.  I also added a small sentiment from the Keep in Touch, Too Stamp Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and highlights to the embossing with the green Wink of Stella pen from my stash.

I hope you have a wonderful afternoon, and will join us for our weekly card challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.

Prayer Garden

Hello Friends! Mindy with you, featuring my thoughts on our inspiration photo presented for our weekly challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  Our Photo inspiration is a cute bunny munching on some greenery in the vintage garden.

When I studied this photo, I was inspired by the plants and the bunny's form, against the brick wall. I started my card with the Bricks and Bark Embossing Folder by Spellbinders against my card base.  I then die cut Garden Pots by Memory Box, Bunny Set and Grass Border by Impression Obsession,
a Leaf Branch by Sue Wilson, and two Small Hydrangea Blooms by Poppy Stamps.

I die cut the Bunny Set, and used it as a stencil to stipple the bunny shapes on to white card stock with green ink.  I was going for the topiary look, growing from the clay pots. I then hid the clay pots behind two layers of the Grass Border, also shaded with the green ink.  I used Joy! Foam Pads- Large to pop the topiary up against the brick wall to give the card dimension. I then added the Sue Wilson leaves and a Grommet Tag from Spellbinders to the top of my card, with a sentiment from the Keep in Touch, Too stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Two small hydrangea blooms were die cut and added to the side of the grommet tag.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today, and are inspired by our photo to create a card of your own for our weekly challenge.

It's Your Day!

Celebrate good times!  Mindy, with a card celebrating one of my favorite collections from Heartfelt Creations, The Peacocks, available in the Classy Cards 'n Such Store!  I hope you will enjoy it, and want to make one for yourself.

I started by stamping the peacock and daisy figure from the Peacock Swirls stamp set on white card stock, and colored it with watercolor markers.  When I finished coloring the image, I die cut around it with the largest die from the A2 Divine Eloquence dies by Spellbinders. I centered the image on the card base, and added shadow around the image with Distress Ink Markers in several blue, green and yellow colors. I then adhered it to the card front, and added the banner, also cut from the Divine Eloquence die set.

To complete the card, I added a few small Baby Pearls- White to the sentiment tag and the daisy centers.  The sentiment is from the Keep in Touch, Too stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
And there you have it!  A very elegant card that didn't take too many supplies, and not a lot of time to complete.  Happy Stamping! and I hope to visit with you all again soon.

Fragrant Flowers

Flowers leave some of their fragrance in the hand that bestows them!  Greetings, friends, Mindy here with this week's card for the weekly challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  The theme this week is to use embossing folders  to give your card texture. I love embossing folders, and usually use at least one on each card I make.  On this card though, I went a little crazy using FIVE different design folders to give my card texture.

I started by preparing my background for the front of my card.  I used the Stripe Folder by Darice to emboss the yellow top, and the Bricks and Bark by Spellbinders for the green base.  A coordinating ribbon was then added where the two came together to cover the joining.  I then stamped the Delightful Daisy stamp from Heartfelt Creations twice on watercolor paper, and then colored the daisies and leaves with my Color Bursts from Ken Oliver Crafts.  When the watercolors were dry, I cut out the petals with the  coordinated Delightful Daisy Dies, also by Heartfelt Creations.

I then embossed the violet daisy petals with the Lattice Embossing Folder by Crafts, Too! and the yellow/orange daisies with the reinforcement rings folder by Cuttlebug from my stash.  The leaves were embossed with the Dots Folder from Crafts Too! before being glued to the card front with Dries Clear Adhesive from the Art Institute. I then gently shaped each daisy petal with the Paper Blossom Tool Kit, being careful to not erase the designs from the embossing folders.

To complete my card, I stamped a phrase from the Iris stamp set by Our Daily Bread Designs, and adhered it to the front with foam tape. I tied a loop bow from ribbon in my stash, and tiny knots for the centers of each of the larger flowers.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my card, and hope you will be inspired to submit a card of your own to our challenge.
