Flutter By

Flutter, flutter, flutter by,  beautiful, colorful butterfly!  Hello friends, Mindy with you today with a beautiful butterfly pivot card, made from a die I have been eyeing in the Classy Cards online store for quite awhile.

I have been looking at this die, Butterfly Pivot Card from Elizabeth Craft Designs for quite awhile. It is a dimensional card that moves when you open it. I tried to get a photo of it opened, but I just couldn't capture the beauty of it with my camera. There is a video of it and others, made by Els van de Burgt, owner of Elizabeth Crafts on YouTube. The card was very easy to construct, I just picked my favorite colors and began to die-cut  the segments.

There is another beautiful edges die, Agatha Edges also by Elizabeth Crafts that has a beautiful flourish edge that I die cut from a lighter yellow card stock. I adhered it to the front of my card, and decorated it with Cherry Chocolate Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest.  I also embossed the New Quilt Blocks embossing folder from Darice, that will be in the Classy Cards Store shortly, and attached it to the fold of the card to give it a little strength.

I hope you will "step out of your comfort zone" and try one of the new Pivot Cards or Pop-Up cards featured in the Classy Cards n' Such Online Store.  When you are ready to check out, enter the code MINDY-10 in the coupon box, and receive a 10% discount on your complete order.  Have a wonderful stamping day!

You Made My Day

Hello, friends! Mindy visiting with you this Wednesday morning, sharing my card for this weeks challenge, Red, White, and Blue, on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog. The Inspiration Photo for this challenge is a bright and cheery one that brings back thoughts of picnics and fun family times in the back yard.  I hope you will be inspired to enter our challenge this week.

My card began with a background of watercolor paper that I spritzed with water and then sprinkled on just a small bit of the New Pthalo Green Color Burst by Ken Oliver Crafts. A little bit of the extra fine powder goes a long way, so for your A2 size card one tiny tap will give you plenty of color. I then spritzed again with more water to help give a very light color background.  While this dried, I began cutting my die images for the card.

I cut most of my parts from white card stock, then used my Tim Holtz Distressed Markers to color them. The dies I used for my scene were Birdhouse Set and two each Grass Border by Impression Obsession,  Garden Pots and Tiny Tulips from Memory Box, and Madison Park Bench by Poppystamps.  Several other loose bits sitting on my desk were used to fill in the flower pots, including some small lilies and flowers from Heartfelt Creations stamps.  I also cut two pillow shapes to place on my bench for decoration. I used Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to attach my dies to the card front.

To complete my card, I added some teeny tiny rhinestones for flower centers along with some pico embellisher for accents and flower centers. The sentiment was from the Keep in Touch Too Stamp Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed my card, and will join us for this week's challenge.

Cross and Lilies

I finally had time to create with my Cross with Script Embossing Folder by Darice, Pristine Lilies pre-cut Stamp Set and Cross and Lilies die cut set from Heartfelt Creations.  The card I made could be used for many different occasions or holidays, with a simple addition of a bible verse inside.

I started this card by embossing a sheet of Color Core card stock with the Cross and Script Embossing folder then sanding with a sanding block to show the inside color of the card core. I then adhered it to the card base and began stamping and forming my flowers.  I stamped the lilies on 90# watercolor paper and then colored with Tim Holtz Distressed Marker in Abandoned Coral. I used my Tim Holtz Water Brush to blend the color on the flower petals then crimped and formed the petals with my Susan's Garden Tool Kit.  While the petals were drying, I cut some free-handed leaves to place in between the flowers on my card front.

After the flowers and leaves were dry, I adhered them to the front of my card in a pleasing design using some Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive. A small bow was added to the flower spray to complete the design.

I hope you have enjoyed visiting with me today. Please visit the Classy Cards 'n Such Online Store to see all of the NEW items available.

A Wish For You

Good Wednesday, friends. Mindy with you to share my card for this weeks challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such. The theme this week is to use the inspiration photo and add a hummingbird.

I started with one of the new dies from Spellbinders titled, Fleur de Elegance and cut it twice from white card stock. I trimmed and folded down one die cut, and adhered it at the top and made a shaped card using the full die image as the base of my card. I then cut an oval from the Romance Paper Bloc by Joy! Crafts and adhered it to the base before building my flower stem and hummingbird.

The hummingbird was formed from a die in my stash from Dee's Distinctively, and colored with my markers. I then used one of the Build a Flower dies from Cheery Lynn Designs, also in my stash to build the powder puff flower the bird is feeding from. Both of these die sets are no longer available in the Classy Cards shop, but there are other die sets available that will give you the same feel to this card.

The sentiment frame, also from the Fleur de Elegance die, was stamped with a greeting from the Mums Stamp Set from JustRite Stamps, then edged with adhesive backed pearls from Sleek Strips Pearls- Le Creme from Want2Scrap.  The pearls in this set comes in two sizes, so I used the smaller ones on the sentiment die and the larger ones at the top and bottom of the card base die.

Have a happy stamping day, and don't forget to participate in our weekly challenge for a chance to win a wonderful prize.

Your Special Day

Thank you for visiting today, Mindy here sharing a card that makes me smile every time I see it. I was contemplating what type of card I wanted to make, and found this rectangle of heavy chipboard in my stash of supplies from my early scrap-booking days. (I have so many supplies filed away for safekeeping!)

I started this card by stamping the Mums from JustRite Stamps image on my chip board rectangle, and then colored it in with my Tim Holtz Distressed markers. The rectangle needed a little more zip and pizzaz, so I die cut two strips of the Woodland Border die from Poppystamps and adhered one to each side of the chip board rectangle. Before adding the rectangle to the card front, I wrapped a length of crinkle ribbon around the card base, then tied a double loop bow to adhere to the side.

To complete my card, I added a few Cherry Chocolate Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest on the corners for a little more texture, and layer of interest. I also stamped one of the sentiments from the Mum Stamp Set to the image.

I hope you are having a great week, and will join in our Classy Card Weekly Challenge this week. We always love to see what you create with our products.

I Love You !

Hi, Mindy with you to share my take on a old game played many times when I was younger. Our challenge this week at the Classy Cards 'n Such blog, is He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not and to use a daisy in your design.

I started by dry embossing my card base with the Lattice Embossing Folder by Crafts Too!  I then die cut the beautiful Oval Regalia die by Spellbinders from white card stock. This die is so delicate and delightful it makes a wonderful background for any image or sentiment.  For the background inside the oval, I used two of the NewTim Holtz Distressed marker colors to color an oval of watercolor paper. I then began to make my floral presentation for the central image.

I used the die for the Mini Daisy Thinlits from Susan Tierney Cockburn and Sizzix to cut the petals and leaves to complete two flowers.  I shaped the petals with my Susan's Garden Tool Kit, then adhered them with the Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive. I formed the two daisies to look as if the petals of one were being plucked from the flower, like the game He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not!  I then added a tiny ribbon bow, and the sentiment banner with the words from the Just the Right Words stamp by Becca Feeken and JustRite Stamps.

I adhered the lacy oval to the card base with Joy! Foam Pads- Large, and the card was complete.  I hope you have enjoyed this card, and will join us for this week's challenge with your take on it.  Have  a Happy Day!

Celebrate Spring Poppies

The wildflowers of Spring are in full bloom here in Texas. Right now the Texas Poppies are blooming, and their colors are beautiful.  I started by stamping the Poppies by Stacy Stamps on a piece of white card stock and colored it with my Copic markers.  I rounded the corners and mounted it on a rectangle of the NEW  Watercolored Memories 6"x 6" paper pad from Ken Oliver Designs, now available in the Classy Cards n' Such Online Store.  This beautiful paper pack is so colorful. Each page is double sided, with one side bright and vibrant colors, and the other side soft and muted colors.

I then stamped the banner, Celebrate, from the Christmas Pennant Swag from Our Daily Bread Designs and cut it out using the matching die, Pennant Swag.  I then stamped and die cut the small blossoms from Botanical Rose sets from Heartfelt Creations, and also colored with my Copic markers.  I added a few small leaves from the Leaf Cluster die set from Impression Obsession, then added Cherry Chocolate Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest to the centers for pop!

I hope you have enjoyed my card, and will be inspired to enter our weekly challenge on our blog! See you all again soon.

Your Day

Greetings friends!  Mindy with you, sharing my card for the challenge this week at Classy Cards n' Such featuring cards for Mother's Day and our beautiful inspiration photo on the blog.  I was inspired by the beautiful colors in the photo, aquamarine and begonia pink.

I started by stamping the birdhouse from Bird Haven PreCut Set by Heartfelt Creations on a rectangle of watercolor paper and coloring with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers. I also stamped the blossoms from the  Birds and Blooms Stamp Set, and the Botanical Rose Set also from Heartfelt Creations.  I then colored them and fussy cut them, before shaping them with my Susan's Garden Tool Kit from Sizzix. I then layered them and adhered them to my card with the Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

After placing them in a pleasing design around the birdhouse, I stamped a few leaves, and dotted the centers with dimension.  I also added Mother of Pearl Rhinestones from Want2Scrap in the big flower centers. The sentiment banner was stamped from the set,  Keep in Touch, Too from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps.

It was nice having you visit today. I hope you will join us for this weeks challenge. We love seeing what you create with our products.
