Happy Easter

Greetings, Fellow Papercrafters!  Today's post is an Easter card, since Easter is so close to St. Patrick's Day this year. Two weeks separates the holidays, so there is not much time to get Easter cards done if you want to send them out.

This card features my favorites, Tilda from Magnolia Stamps, and Hero Arts. The little girl is Fancy Romantic Tilda, and the stamp has her holding an umbrella.  I cut off the umbrella after stamping the design on white card stock, and added the basket of eggs from an Inky Antics clear stamp set. I colored all of the stamped images with my copic markers, along with the two flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts "Blossom" set.

After all of the images were colored, I set them aside, and got out my pink card stock background and a piece of pink vertical striped paper and stamped the sentiment Happy Easter in Rose bud Memento ink. I believe the Happy Easter was from an assorted holiday stamp set from Fiskars.  To give it just a bit of twinkle, I added a few pink faceted stones for the middles of the flowers and attached them to the card front, using foam squares to pop up Tilda just a bit, so she would stand out on the card.  As a last thought, I used some Smooch ink on the edges of the flowers, just so they would sparkle just a little.

I will try to post a few more Easter cards this week, that are fairly easy to complete. Then if you are like me and running behind in getting your cards done, you will still have time to finish them and get them in the mail by next week.  Take care, and Stamp Happy!  See you again soon.

Twas the Night Before Christmas Eve . . . . .

Merry, Merry, stampin' friends!  It's Christmas Eve eve, and this will probably be the last Christmas card post of the year 2012.  I just wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday from my house to yours!

Little Miss Tilda is sitting on the Christmas Word Collage from Cricut, I purchased for myself for the holidays. The Cricut cartridge is titled "Word Collage" and has many groupings of related words you can cut out and use.  I am just getting around to figuring out all of the many ways to manipulate the items you can cut from the Cricut, I'm like a kid with a New toy.  I have had my Cricut for years, but  never really had the time or patience to sit down and actually play with it.

The paper at the top is from The Nutcracker Suite paper pad by Graphic 45, and of course the Vintage Tilda Stamp is from Magnolia Stamps.  To all my family and friends out there across the World Wide Web, may you have the merriest of Christmas' and the happiest New Year! Layers and Layers of Papers

Happy Wednesday everyone,
Today has been a bright and sunny day, so I decided to create a card with a beautiful sunflower on it. As you may notice, I love Magnolia Stamps and the little girl, Tilda. This company creates a line of rubber stamps that centers around Tilda and Edwin, their pets, their adventures and their surroundings.  I would have all of their stamps if I could afford them, but the ones I do have really make me happy. Especially since I use them quite often to practice coloring and blending colors with my Copic Markers.

For this card, Tilda with Sunflower, I started with a pre-embossed base card and layered five different prints and solids of scrapbook and art papers. I stamped the Magnolia stamp of Tilda and her flower on watercolor paper. If you have ever used Copic markers before, you know that they are an alcohol based art marker that will bleed through many papers.  The watercolor paper is a bit thicker than regular card stock and the alcohol ink does not bleed through quite as much. When you are blending the copic colors, the watercolor paper absorbs quite a bit of ink, but it gives quite a crisp detail to the image. I also stamped a great saying stamp by Amuse Art stamps.

I then started building layers of papers, solids and prints alike, to fill in the front of the card. I love going to http://magnolia-licious.blogspot.com to see what other fans of these cutie-pie stamps have done with them. Other Magnolia fans decorate their cards with all sorts of flowers and ribbons and many, many embellishments which make very beautiful cards. Mine are just a little simpler.

Get out and enjoy the sunshine if you can, and remember my wish for you; "may your days be filled with sparkles and sunshine"!
