Birthday Posies

Birthday Wishes shared today by Mindy, who created this wreath which is suitable for birthday's, get well, and thinking of you.

The card is begun by selecting three colors of card stock that compliment the colors you choose for your flowers.  The flower used is the single flower from the Flower Basket Clear Stamps by JustRight Stamps. On a sheet of eggshell stock, I drew a circle using a circular die as a template.  I then stamped the flower stamp around the circle alternating the direction of the stamp to give it a different but balanced appearance. The flowers were then colored with Copic markers and left to dry.
When the Copics were dry. I highlighted each leaf and flower with a Gelli Roll Stardust Clear Pen by Sakura. I also stamped five extra flowers and colored them the same as the wreath, then fussy cut around each one.

I then assembled my three layers of card stock for the background. The layer where the wreath will be place is embossed with the Vintage Flowers Folder by Crafts Too!  I then adhered the wreath with Joy! Foam Pads Large, and cut a few of the pads in quarters for the smaller single flowers.  They were placed around the wreath to fill in empty spaces.

The sentiments were from the Flower Basket set and the Happy Birthday stamp from Art Impression. The stamps were embossed with embossing powder on Heavyweight Vellum then attached with brads. After all the layers were attached, I adhered the card front to an eggshell card base.

Sending Smiles

Mindy with you today, with my card for our current challenge, Tea Party!  The weekly challenge consists of making a card with teacups, saucers, or teapots then adding a flower.  The stamp I used for my focal image and sentiment is Daisy Bouquets by Inky Antics, and consists of a beautiful teacup full of lovely daisies.  After stamping my image on white card stock, I colored it with Copic markers, then die cut the image with a die from the A2 Devine Eleoquence Set by Spellbinders.

I then backed the colored image with a piece of patterned paper.  The A2 size background was die cut and adhered to a card base of Stardream Rose Quartz Metallic stock along with the sentiment banner.
Sending smiles was stamped on the sentiment banner, then the image and banner were both adhered to the card with Joy! Foam Pads- Large to add some dimension.  Mother of Pearl Rhinestones by Want2scrap were then added for a little sparkle.

I hope you have enjoyed this card, and will join us at the Classy Cards n' Such Blog for our weekly challenge #73.

Full of Blessings

Praying your day is full of blessings and love.  Mindy with you today sharing a card made with the many elements of the Blueprints 13 Die-namics die from My Favorite Things, sold in the Classy Cards n' Such Online Store.

This die set contains 13 dies that go well together.  The background die cuts a rectangle with a stitched edge border. Then there is a fishtail banner, a rounded top tag, along with a circle and rosette that fit together perfectly for a stamped verse. There are also two sizes of arrows, stars, and three banners suitable for sayings.

For my card I cut the background rectangle from a songbook page, then the fishtail banner, then the tag.  On the tag, I stamped the Cascading Ferns Background from JustRite and added the rosette with a sentiment from the Birds and Roses Set from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  The torn-edged banner was decorated with the large stars and stamped with love. The banner, along with the large arrow was then raised above the base card with Foam Pads- Large by Joy! for added texture and dimension.

This card could be used for birthdays, anniversaries, or just thinking of you. A good all-around card suitable for many occasions.

A Calming Sea

"And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." Mark 4:39  Hello friends, Mindy with you today to share my card for this weeks challenge at Classy Cards n' Such. The theme is Neutrals with a Frame, so I have created a beach themed card consisting of the neutral colors of the sand, surf, and multiple shore birds. The framed sentiment is a lovely verse from the stamp set The Sea from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.

I chose many neutral colors and finishes of card stock to build my card from, and chose my sea life themed dies to go along with the Sweet 'n Sassy stamp mentioned above.  I used the Impression Obsession dies, Grass BorderLarge FenceOcean BorderSea Birds, and Shore Birds to die cut from the different papers. The Ocean border was cut from watercolor paper, then I brushed on a wash of blue and green from the Summer Fun Petite Twinkling H2O Kit with my Tim Holtz Water Brush.

I stamped the sailboat and water image from The Sea stamp in the top third of the card and then adhered the multiple die cuts and layers to my card. I also used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool by Ranger to color around the edges of the paper, and to highlight the birds and sand.

I love all of the aspects of the beach and the sea, and find it very calming when the stress of everyday life gets me down. I hope you will participate in our challenges each week. We would love to see your creations.

Loose Hearts

When I die cut this heart and gave it a shake, that's what I got. . . Loose Hearts! Mindy here to share with you a card that is suitable for Valentine's Day, Get Well, or Just Because!

The die used is the Heart of Hearts die by Impression Obsession, and then framed with the second largest Classic Scalloped Hearts die from Spellbinders. The special paper I used for the frame was the Tinsel Holographic Paper by The Paper Cut, and is sold in the Classy Cards n' Such Online Store. It is one of my favorite specialty papers used when you need a little umph! to add to your project.

When I shook out the innies from the Heart of  Hearts die, I got a whole pile of various sizes and shapes of  hearts.  I then took these, using my Silhouette Pick-Me-Up tool, and glued them down the side of the card to look as if they were spilling out of the die- cut heart.  I added a Love die sentiment, and then used my Clear Glitter Pen and pink glitter pen from Wink of Stella to highlight the small hearts and sentiment.

Thank you for looking at my card, I hope you enjoyed it.

Bluebird of Happiness

Hello friends, Mindy here with a card that brings happy thoughts of you. Our challenge this week at Classy Cards n' Such is an inspiring photo of a beautiful blue bird in among some flowers and berries.
I received the new Birds and Blooms Stamp Set from Heartfelt Creations this week, and it inspired me to stamp and watercolor these beautiful little birds like the one in the challenge photo.

I stamped the branch with leaves and flowers on a sheet of watercolor paper, along with the three small birds and the extra flowers. I then colored them with my watercolor pencils and Tim Holtz Water Brush with the detail nib.  While the colors were drying, I layered several sheets of the beautiful metallic papers sold in the Classy Cards n' Such Online Store. I used Luminized Curious Metallic Silver for the card base, and layered Stardream Punch Metallic behind the watercolor sheet.

I then fussy cut around the extra birds and flowers and mounted them to the base stamp with Foam Pads- small by Joy! The sentiment is from the Floral Basket Stamp Set from JustRite, and I added Pink Rock Candy embellishments from Queen and Company to the centers of the flowers.

I hope you have been inspired by the challenge photo as much as I have been.

Sending You Love

Hello Friends!
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I wanted to share a card that I made recently using one of the easy-to-use Heart Swing Card templates from Paper Wishes/Hot Off the Press.

All you need with this template is some printed card stock paper and a few embellishments to make this beautiful swing card.  I used a sheet of white 12 X 12 card stock, and following the instructions on the template, cut all the basic card elements. Then using a Valentine printed paper pad from Martha Stewart Crafts and cut the decorative pieces and adhered them to the background card. I then began the decorating.

I stamped and cut several balloon shapes using the Heart Balloons stamp set from My Favorite Things and a few words from the Lots of Love Words die also from My Favorite Things Die-namics.
After adhering them to the card, I also stamped a few sayings and postmark from the You've Got Love Mail stamp set from Winnie & Walter LLC.  To add a little bling, I adhered heart shaped pearls from Hero Arts to several of the balloons and glitter to others.

These "Swing" type cards are very popular right now, yet if you use one of the templates from Hot Off the Press they make it so easy to create a beautiful card in no time. Have a wonderful Stampin' Day, with Lots of Love sent your way!

Hearts Unfold

"Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, growing to the sun above." ~Henry van Dyke
Mindy with you today to share a heart embellished card suitable for this time of the year. Basic supplies for this card were made from products available in the Classy Cards n' Such Online Store.

I started by embossing a white panel of card stock with the Lattice embossing folder from Crafts, Too! and placed it off-center of the red base card stock. I then die cut the Heart Flourish from Impression Obsession from red card stock and adhered it to the Lattice embossed white strip. I added a few sequins and some glitter to the heart shape in the middle of the die, and popped the heart up with a Foam Pad- Large from Joy! Crafts to give it depth and dimension.

Along the left side of the card, I added a length of sheer and satin ribbon tied in a knot, and then a Fleurette from the Blueprints 13 Die-namics by My Favorite Things was added with the sentiment from the Flowers in Bloom stamp set by Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

Loving You!

Loving greetings friends! Mindy with you today, to share a Shabby Chic Heart card with you for our   current weekly challenge #70 on the Classy Cards n' Such blog.

I used a generic heart shaped die to cut a base from some printed lace paper I had in my stash. I then adhered some of the Ivory cotton Cluny lace from the Classy Cards n' Such Online Store. After trimming around the heart shape, I then mounted it on an off white card base cut from the Blueprints 13 Die-namics from My Favorite Things. I then adhered the base to an A 2 card base, and began decorating it.

The next layer was cut from three layers of card stock; one off white, and two cream colored using the Heart Within My Heart die from Cheery Lynn Designs. I glued them all together to build up some dimension, and then adhered it to the card front with Small Foam Pads from Joy!  The center embellishment was made from a negative punch-out in the cream colored stock, glued directly to the base then stamped with a sentiment from the Floral Basket stamp set by JustRight Stampers.  A vintage pearl button with twine tied in a bow, along with several LeCreme Pearls from Want2Scrap were added to the corners for texture.

I hope you have enjoyed my card, and will create some cards for those you love.
