I was playing with a few bits and scraps left on my desk from this week's card making, and decided to use some of the pieces, laying around to make a Christmas card.
I got this new Bow and Bell die from the Classy Cards 'N Such online store, and my first pass through the die cut machine left attached sections. Of course, after I practiced a little, the detailed bits just flicked right out with the Tool 'n One by Spellbinders. This die on the card had some pieces still firmly attached, so I glued it on a sheet of Neenah white card stock, and colored in the blank areas with my Distress Markers and a Tim Holtz water pen.
I used a kraft colored card base, and attached a rectangle of Echo Bronze Stardream Metallic paper and then my pre-printed Christmas paper scrap for the background, before adding the bell die cut and the die cut, Season's Greetings. I also had a few scraps of Eternal Swirls- white pearls that added just a touch of bling to the card.
I then fussy cut around the bell and bow and attached it using Joy! Foam Squares to the front of the card.
I try to keep an eye on my scrap bin as I create cards, because if I make a card with the scraps as I go, by the time Christmas comes around maybe I will have enough hand-made cards to send, without having to spend days mass producing Holiday cards.
Mindy, your card is beautiful. I love that you filled the inside of the bell by using the Tim Holtz markers. It gives the bell a quilted look. It is never too soon to start the Christmas cards, it will be here in a flash. I received a new Christmas die yesterday and I have a card developing in my head. :)
